Looking Back at 2025: Why Good Locksmiths Matter More Than Ever

Seasons greetings from everyone at PT Lock & Safe

As the year draws to a close, we’ve been taking a look back over everything that’s happened. Working as a locksmith means no two days are ever the same, and 2025 has given us more than a few reminders of why the work we do - and the way we choose to do it - really matters.

One of the things we’re especially proud of this year is becoming the only Master Locksmith Association accredited locksmith operating in Norwich. It’s a milestone that reflects decades of experience, a commitment to doing things properly, and a level of professionalism that we feel sets a clear standard in an industry where, unfortunately, not everyone plays by the same rules.

A Year of Putting Things Right

We’ve been called to plenty of unusual jobs over the last twelve months, but a noticeable theme emerged: tidying up other people’s work.

There were several occasions where customers had already paid another locksmith, only to be left with a half-finished job or a door or safe in worse condition than when they started. One “international locksmith” drilled a lock so aggressively that it was barely hanging on by a thread. In another case, a locksmith had spent a good while attacking a safe, achieved nothing, and then told the owner they were “just popping out to the van to grab a part” - and never returned.

We don’t like seeing people put in that position. When someone calls us, it’s usually because they’re stressed, locked out, worried about security, or unable to get into something important. Those aren’t moments to take advantage of. They’re moments to step up and help.

Our Approach Doesn’t Change

The way we work has stayed consistent since the very beginning:

  • We don’t rip people off.
  • We don’t tell customers they need parts or replacements they don’t require.
  • We don’t disappear halfway through a job.
  • And we certainly don’t leave a mess behind for someone else to sort out.

Everyone needs to make a living, but not at the expense of honesty or integrity. As we move into 2026, that commitment remains the same. Good workmanship at a fair price, carried out by people who genuinely care about doing the right thing - that’s what we’re here for. It’s what people expect of us, and it’s something we’ll continue to take pride in every single day.

Christmas Opening Hours

Our workshop will be open as usual until 5.30pm on 23rd December.

After that, the workshop will be closed until 5th January 2026.

From Boxing Day onwards, we will still be providing emergency callouts only, so anyone who needs urgent help can continue to rely on us throughout the festive period.

Thank You

As we wrap things up for the year, we just want to say a genuine thank you to everyone who picked up the phone and asked us for help in 2025. Whether it was a front door that wouldn’t budge, a lost car key, a safe that refused to open, or a job for your business, we really do appreciate the trust you put in us. It’s not something we gloss over or take lightly.

We hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a steady, successful start to the New Year. Enjoy the break, stay safe, and we’ll be here in 2026 if you need us.
